Suffolk chosen for DFW Airport Terminal C refurbishment project

Suffolk, one of the nation’s largest construction companies, has won the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport Terminal C refurbishment project. The complete refurbishment represents DFW’s continued commitment as a transformational leader in the aviation industry.

The 850,000 square foot phased project will include improvements to the interior finishes of 18 domestic doors, reconfigurations and expansion of security and ticketing checkpoints, improvements to concessions and washrooms, replacement and installation energy efficient glazing and HVAC systems, redesign of boarding bridges and preconditioned air units, ramp marking and guidance systems, jet fuel lines and new baggage handling areas, among others improvements.

Suffolk was selected for the project in partnership with 3i Contracting.

Pre-construction of the project has already started and will include detailed micro-phasing and sequencing planning to ensure continuity of customer service throughout subsequent construction phases. Full construction and renovation works are scheduled to start in 2024, with project completion scheduled for 2026.

In August, the DFW Airport Board of Directors approved plans to renovate and expand Terminal C. The projects estimated at $ 2 billion are the latest example of the ongoing investment in the airport. of DFW and the region, not only to update the nearly 50-year-old facility, but also by increasing the capacity of the doors of Terminals C and A to meet future growth and continue the commitment to an improved customer experience and scalable.
