Snohomish County Paine Field Airport Master Plan Updates Underway

Snohomish County Updates Paine Field Airport Master Plan. The team has created an online open house and will be hosting a webinar on November 9 so community members can learn more about the work done so far and where the plan is heading. Residents will also have the opportunity to communicate directly with the project team.

“Paine Field is extremely important to the quality of life for the residents of Snohomish County,” said Arif Ghouse, Snohomish County Airport Manager. “The airport master plan will guide investments as the county strives to ensure Paine Field can meet demand and continue to meet the needs of passengers, general aviation and other aerospace needs. . “

Paine Field represents $ 60 billion in annual economic activity and supports more than 158,000 direct and indirect jobs. With the increase in air travel as travel destinations reopen, Paine Field is expected to see an increase in demand from all users – general aviation, commercial, corporate, air cargo, and corporate to support this business.

An airport master plan is a long-term planning document that describes a strategy for the development of airport grounds and facilities. The plan aims to prepare the airport to meet the needs of the future. The current update to the Paine Field Master Plan was adopted by Snohomish County Council in December 2002 and was accepted by the Federal Aviation Administration in November 2003. The Master Plan is informed by residents of Snohomish County, government agencies, chambers of commerce, the airport commission, civic groups, environmental organizations, business leaders and others interested in the airport.

“We want to hear from the community throughout this process. Community members can get involved by visiting the open house online and leaving their comments until Wednesday, November 24, ”said Terry Ryan, director of aerospace economic development for Snohomish County.
