New Head of Government Relations to Accelerate Archer’s Journey to Commercialization | national company

Archer Aviation Inc. (NYSE: ACHR), a leader in electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, today announced the appointment of Dr. Michael Romanowski as Chief Government Relations Officer. In his role, Romanowski will work with regulators and industry to form a forward-thinking position on policy, process and global certification expectations.

Romanowski joins Archer after more than 14 years with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), where he most recently served as Director of Aircraft Certification, Policy and Innovation, and Director of NextGen Integration and Implementation. and the integration of commercial space. Additionally, Romanowski served as Aviation and Aeronautics Advisor to the United States Chief Technology Officer and Executive Director of the National Science and Technology Council’s Aeronautical Science and Technology Subcommittee during the Obama administration. Prior to the FAA, Romanowski served as vice president of civil aviation at the Aerospace Industries Association. Romanowski earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Duke University.

Following the recent close of the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) of its production aircraft, Midnight, Archer continues its path to commercialization by focusing on the regulatory framework necessary to bring eVTOL aircraft to market. Romanowski’s appointment is critical to continued collaboration with industry and regulators developing consensus positions on technology implementation.
