  • On Instagram, he explained how he always puts the remote in plastic
  • “I make sure the remote doesn’t come into contact with my flesh,” he said.

A former flight attendant explained why he always packed the TV remote in a resealable bag before using it in a hotel room.

Jarrad Duggan-Tierney, who lives in Melbourne with her husband Michael and their son Reid, is visiting Sydney this week with his family.

Just before Easter, the trio were staying in a hotel room when Jarrad revealed he always carried a spare bag with him to cover some electronics in the room.

“I love a hotel, but no matter how fancy it is, it’s my standard protocol (even pre-Covid) to make sure the remote doesn’t come into contact with my or anyone else’s flesh. one I care about,” he said. .

“I blame all the years of being a flight attendant and hearing so many stories of how lonely people feel in hotel rooms #saynomore #ibringmyownwipesaswell.”

Horrified by the omission, Jarrad’s supporters said they never thought how dirty a hotel remote control could be and this image made them think twice.

‘Haha I never thought of it like that! Pack plastic zippers for my next trip,” one woman said.

‘OMG yes! I did the same thing during stopovers. Plus all throw pillows on one side of the room,” another said.

A third added: ‘Ditto. Also will not go barefoot in bedrooms or shower. And wash glasses and cups before using them. They should pay me to stay there.

Another flight attendant agreed with Jarrad’s approach before saying kettles should also be banned.

“Never use the kettle either #crewwouldboiltheirundies,” she said.

“I’m curious about the kettle but I don’t really want to know but I want to know lol,” said one reply.

Jarrad replied, “Exactly! While they’re grilling a sandwich with the iron’.
