US Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) recently announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded five grants to airports in southwest Ohio, for a total $ 177,000 for operations, personnel, cleaning, sanitizing and janitorial services. , debt service payments and controlling the spread of pathogens at airports. “Ohio airports are a vital infrastructure for travel and commerce in our state,” said Brown. “These investments will provide airports in southwest Ohio with the resources they need to keep their passengers safe and support the local economy.”

FAA funds include:

• Grant of $ 32,000 to the City of Middletown for the Middletown / Hook Field Regional Airport.

• Grant of $ 32,000 to Greene County Regional Airport Authority and Greene County Board of Commissioners for Greene / Lewis A. Jackson County Regional Airport.

• Grant of $ 22,000 to Brown County Council of Commissioners for Brown County Airport.

• A $ 59,000 grant from the Butler County Council of Commissioners for the Butler / Hogan Field County Regional Airport.

Adams County Commissioners Grant $ 32,000 for Alexander Salamon Airport.

The FAA supports public use airports included in the National Integrated Airport Systems Plan (NPIAS) through the Airport Improvement Program. The program supports projects that improve the safety, capacity, security and environmental impact of airports.
