Sitharaman to Attend Global Expo India Business Summit in November

Panaji: On the heels of the Invest Goa Summit 2022, the state will now host the Global Expo India, a two-day summit from November 8 which will be attended by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. On the sidelines of the event, countries like Spain, Ecuador, El Salvador, Colombia, Ethiopia, Uganda and Mauritius expressed interest in partnering with Goa for investment and trade in IT/ITES/electronics, logistics, start-ups, research and development, agro-food and marine processing, tourism and related activities, education and entertainment sectors. The World Expo aims to attract international trade and foreign direct investment and will be held at the International Center, Dona Paula. The Goa chapter of Global Expo India will also be formed during the event. “This event will also mark the launch of the Goa chapter of GE-India in which the schedule of all future events will be presented where it will have foreign, domestic and state pavilions,” said a memo from the Department of l Information and Publicity (DIP) Business Summit is promoted by the Directorate of Industries, Commerce and Commerce with other state government agencies and industry bodies also expressing interest in the organization of the event. Business Network India (BNI) Goa and Credai Goa, as well as Goa Business School, have expressed interest in supporting the company, DIP said. “The organizers have received an excellent response from the global World Trade Center as they had actively participated in the concluded the virtual 2022 WTCA GA and had fruitful interactions with many centers around the world who will be participating as business-to-business delegates at all our upcoming events,” the DIP note reads.
